Wendy Davids is a dynamic Human Resources professional with over 22 years of proven HR leadership and business strategy solutions. Wendy relies on a collaborative approach and offers Human Resources solutions to positively impact your business and workforce.

Wendy has led the Human Resources and Employee Health Departments in a variety of industries and organizations including healthcare, universities, Law, radio/media, software, construction, technology, beauty, non-profit, and corporate events planning. Wendy has a proven track record of mentoring new leaders, coaching executives and front-line staff, developing benefits solutions, creative policies and procedures, mergers/acquisitions, and partnering with organizations in aspects of HR. With more than a decade as the Director of Human Resources at a hospital, Wendy is able to effectively manage multi-faceted regulatory compliance structures as well.  She has worked with a multitude of complex employee relations investigations and regulatory compliance.

Wendy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Webster University.  She has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute since 2004.  Wendy has taught at the University of Saint Frances since 2009, including Human Resources Issues for Leadership, Organizational Development, and Human Resource Management. In her leisure time, Wendy enjoys water skiing, world travel, and is nationally certified as a Group Fitness Instructor. She is in the Guinness Book of World Records for show skiing (2019 and 2021).

Melissa Barreiro brings 25 years of Human Resources experience to Balanced Human Resource Solutions.  She is a true generalist handling all facets of human resources, from benefits plan design to negotiating with collective bargaining units to serving as the primary corporate liaison in OSHA audits, regulatory investigations/proceedings and everything in between.  Her industry experience ranges from manufacturing and technology to HR positions in the service and staffing industry.  She has Corporate and Operations management-level experience for both privately-owned and Fortune 200 companies.

In all of her roles, she has acted as a business partner to senior leaders with the ability to foster strong relationships with all levels of employees in the organization.  She regularly coaches managers in dealing effectively with their employees, peers, and leaders.  Throughout her career, Melissa has been able to balance the needs of the Company with that of its employees.  She believes the Human Resources function should be a business partner that takes an advisory, not policing, role in its approach.

Melissa holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development and  a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish, both from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  She obtained her certification as a Professional in Human Resources in 2000.

Melissa is bilingual (Spanish and English) and enjoys reading and running.
